Crack Repair and Joint Fillers
Proper structural concrete crack repair materials should be 100% solids epoxy or polyurea. For best results, repairs should be ground flush with the concrete after curing when applying a coating. Flexible, self-leveling sealants should only be used for filling expansion joints or contraction joints after a coating or sealer has been applied.

PC Concrete Epoxy
PC Concrete is a viscous 2-part 100% solids epoxy that is applied with a caulking gun. Includes two self-mixing nozzles. It can be used on horizontal and vertical surfaces. Use for cracks, holes, and divots in the concrete. A putty knife is recommended to press the epoxy into cracks upon application. 20 minute working time – cures in 4 hours.

Rust-Oleum Concrete Patch & Repair
Concrete Patch & Repair is a 2-part 100% solids epoxy putty. It can be used on horizontal and vertical surfaces. Use for cracks, holes, divots, and mild pitting. The 2-parts require mixing on a piece of cardboard or similar. Mix only what you can use in 15 – 20 minutes. Cures in 8 hours.

Legacy Xtreme-Set 100
Repair cracks fast and easily. Our favorite crack and joint filler! Xtreme-Set 100 is a 2-part 100% solids polyurea for horizontal surfaces. Best for multiple cracks, divots, and filling contraction joints before a coating. Mix only what you can apply in a few minutes. Cures in 20 minutes. Use locally obtained clean sand. See our review here. Do not use on expansion joints.

SikaFlex Self-leveling Sealant
SikaFlex is a self-leveling, flexible polyurethane sealant that will not shrink. Use for filling expansion joints at the garage floor perimeters or filling contraction joints after a coating or sealer has been applied. Also great for garage floor threshold expansion joints at the driveway.
Concrete Pitting and Spalling Repair Materials
Proper pitting and spalling repair materials consist of polymer-modified cement or a 100% solids epoxy and sand mix. Trowel smooth and grind flush with the concrete before applying a coating. Polymer-modified cement should not be used to repair cracks. Never use standard cement.

Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher
Quikrete Concrete Patcher is a polymer-modified cement that can be troweled smooth. Cures to a compressive strength of 5000 PSI. Use on pitted and spalled concrete surfaces. Available in 10 lb. pail for smaller jobs or 50 lb. bags. Coatings can be applied over it if the surface is roughened after curing. Best pricing if sourced locally. Can be purchased on Amazon.

Rust-Oleum Pourable Concrete Patch
Rust-Oleum Pourable Patch is a polymer-modified cement that is fiber-reinforced. Cures to a compressive strength of 6525 PSI. Use on pitted and spalled concrete surfaces. Fast working and self-leveling, but must be troweled smooth for best results. Available in 5 lb. pails for smaller jobs or 55 lb. pails. Coatings can be applied over it if the surface is roughened after curing.

5-Ton® Epoxy Patch Kit
5-Ton Epoxy Patch by Legacy Industrial is a 100% solids epoxy and sand mix. Cures to a compressive strength of 10,000 PSI. The best material to repair pitting, spalling, divots, and small to large chunks in the surface. Recommended when coatings are applied. Trowel smooth and grind the surface if applying a coating over it. Legacy offers less expensive no-sand options when sourcing clean sand locally.
Concrete Repair Tools
The proper tools for concrete repair can make for fast work and flush repairs. This is particularly important if you apply a colored coating that will hide or make the repairs less visible.

4.5″ Angle Grinder
Inexpensive, constant-speed 4.5″ angle grinders make concrete repairs easy. They are required when using crack chasing wheels and turbo cup concrete grinding wheels. Amazon has a good selection. Harbor Freight is good as well. A dust shroud that attaches to a shop vac is highly recommended when grinding.

4.5″ angle Grinder Dust Shroud
Inexpensive universal dust shrouds fit 4″ and 4.5″ angle grinders. We recommend those that come with a shop vac hose adapter. They are good at capturing caustic concrete dust when grinding repairs flush. Amazon has the best selection and pricing. An N95 dust mask and safety glasses are recommended.

4″ Crack Chasing Wheel
A crack chasing wheel is used with an angle grinder. A “must-have” to quickly and easily prep cracks by removing sharp edges and weakened concrete within the crack. Our concrete repair page has a video that demonstrates how they work. You can use a 4″ or 4.5″ wheel. Amazon has the best selection and pricing.

4″ Turbo Cup Wheel
An inexpensive 4″ or 4.5″ diamond-segmented grinding wheel makes fast work of grinding repairs flush and prepping the repaired surface for coatings. Keep it flat on the surface with a light touch to avoid gouge marks. A dust shroud is highly recommended. Amazon has the best selection and pricing.
