Motorcycle floor mats for the garage are not a common flooring option that is available everywhere. Also known as motorcycle parking pads, this type of flooring is geared towards enhancing your current garage floor and protecting it from the fluids and oils of maintenance or from the dirt and debris that your motorcycle may track in.
As a result, we decided to review the different motorcycle flooring options and garage floor mats that are available so that you may get a better idea of what materials are used, how well they will perform, where to purchase them for the best price, and what they cost.
We will also briefly explain how mat thickness is measured for some motorcycle mats. It can get confusing as some use millimeters to measure thickness and some use mils. The numbers can be confusing and we want to make sure you understand the difference when comparing.

Best Budget Motorcycle Flooring
If cost is a primary concern, then one of the best values for budget motorcycle flooring is the Rough Tex Diamond Deck Motorcycle Mat by Auto Care Products. Made of durable polyvinyl, it has a diamond pattern that provides good traction and wear.
With an overall thickness of 2.9mm it is one of the thickest mats that are available. Just to make things clear, 2.9 mm is equivalent to 114 mils if you are doing a comparison. That’s just slightly thicker than two dimes stacked together.
In addition, this mat provides good chemical resistance from various fluids. Battery acid does not have any affect, and it is highly resistant to gas, oil, brake fluid, and anti-freeze.
Available in Black, Charcoal, and Pewter, the standard size of the motorcycle mat is 5’ x 7.5’. However, there are options for other sizes.
Something to be aware of is that the Rough Tex mat is made overseas and is the reason why this budget mat price is so appealing. We normally do not recommend such mats. However, unlike other competing mats from overseas, this mat does not use any fillers and comes with a 7-year limited warranty.
Best Quality Motorcycle Floor Mats
Without a doubt, the best quality motorcycle floor mats are those by G-Floor. G-Floor mats are constructed of extremely durable 100% polyvinyl and manufactured in the U.S.A. They have set the standards for polyvinyl mat construction and is the company that other mat manufacturers try to measure up to.
Any of their mats would work extremely well at protecting the garage floor. However, there are two that we want to recommend for your garage. The first of these is the actual G-Floor Motorcycle Mat. It’s a ribbed polyvinyl mat that is 55 mils thick. This is the equivalent of 1.4 mm.
It’s available in 3’ x 8’ and 5’ x 10’ sizes, with black being the only color choice. The ribbed design is known for providing good traction and does a good job of retaining liquids.
These motorcycle mats are the thinnest mats in the G-Floor lineup. As a result, they are their least expensive and have proven to be a good value if you are on a budget.
The second mat we recommend is our favorite G-Floor mat for motorcycles. It’s from their newer line called G-Floor Lite.
G-Floor Lite mats have a diamond pattern with an overall thickness of 100 mils. This is the equivalent of 2.54 mm. The sizing is 4’ X 8’ and they are available in either Black or Slate Gray.
G-Floor mats are known for lying very flat and they have excellent resistance to automotive fluids and chemicals, including gas.
The diamond pattern delivers excellent traction and will hold up well to heavy kickstands. In addition, G-Floor mats are the best at resisting mold or mildew that can collect on the bottom of some competitor’s mats.
Lastly, they are very easy to keep clean. A mild soap and water solution are all that is needed for heavy cleanup.
If you want an even thicker G-Floor mat for your motorcycle parking area, then you could choose one of G-Floor’s standard mats in Diamond or Large Coin. However, the smallest size available is 5’ x 10’.
The standard G-Floor Diamond mats are 120 mils thick or 3.05 mm. The Large Coin G-Floor mats are 110 mils thick or 2.8 mm.
Mat Flooring for Sport Bikes
If you have a sport bike and would like a versatile mat that will work well in your garage as well as at the track, then the Moto-D motorcycle mat is an option you may want to consider.
These are a good-looking mat that is constructed of a soft, low profile carpet with a rubberized backing to prevent slipping. It will collect fluid spills and is easy on the knees if kneeling to work on your bike.
It is 3’ x 8’ in size and can easily be rolled up to transport to the track or garage and used as a pit mat.
Something to be aware of is that this type of mat is thin and can bunch up sometimes when placing your bike on a stand or rolling the bike up on the mat when it’s not laying fully flat. It will require pulling on the ends to straighten it out first to help prevent that from happening.
Fanmats Motorcycle Mat Flooring
If you are a sports fan, then you need to check out these fairly new motorcycle mats by Fanmats. They are slowly catching the eyes of the motorcycle community with their great looks and 3D molded team logos on each end.
The mats are made of 100% rubber with molded channels to catch debris and fluids. They are also the thickest motorcycle mat at 5/16”. Compared to the previous mats we have discussed, that converts to 7.9mm or 312 mils.
Each mat is 42” wide at the center and 82.5” (almost 7’) long. The all rubber design ensures that they will not slip on the floor and can easily be rolled up and stored away if needed.
There are four different team logos you can choose from below.
Because these mats are still fairly new, feedback and reviews are slim right now. However, we have a feeling that these are going to be popular once more people find out about them.
Interlocking Tile Motorcycle Garage Flooring Mats
If you want a great looking custom parking area for your motorcycle, then it’s hard to beat an interlocking tile motorcycle parking pad. One of our favorites is the Gladiator Motorcycle Parking Pad.
Made of hard plastic polypropylene, interlocking floor tiles are known for their good looks, excellent stain resistance, chemical resistance, and easy cleanup.
The Gladiator Motorcycle Mat is 4’ x 8’ in size. It comes with 32 interlocking tiles. Each tile is 12” x 12” and ½” thick. They come in Charcoal and Black and include all the edge ramps. You can construct a checkered design or other patterns with the two colors.
The Gladiator tiles will support 250 lbs. per square inch (not per tile) and they are backed by Gladiator’s 10-year warranty.
If you like the idea of an interlocking tile motorcycle pad, but you want something more economically priced or a choice of different colors, then you need to check out the Diamond Nitro Tile Motorcycle Pad.
The Diamond Nitro Tile motorcycle parking mats are available in 4’ x 8’ and 5’ x 10’ sizes. This includes a variety of color patterns with up to three colors to choose from for the edge ramps.
Each Nitro Tile is 12” x 12”, but only 3/8” thick versus 1/2” thick when compared to other interlocking tile brands. This is not as important though for parking motorcycles as it would be for cars and trucks since they are much heavier.
In addition, each motorcycle parking pad comes with the Nitro Tile 3-year warranty.
Motorcycle Kickstand Parking Pucks and Pads
Lastly, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that you consider a motorcycle kickstand parking puck.
The kickstand on heavy motorcycles can cause wear and abuse to even the toughest surfaces, motorcycle mats and parking pads over time. These handy kickstand pads can protect your flooring as well as come in handy when parking your motorcycle on soft surfaces such as hot asphalt and dirt.
These pucks are not that expensive and there are just too many to list that we like. However, we compiled a page from Amazon that lists all of the highest rated kickstand pads.
Our suggestion is to purchase two. One that can stay with the motorcycle when you are out and about and one that can stay with your parking area at home or in the garage.
As we had stated previously, motorcycle mats and parking pads aren’t as common of a flooring option and can be harder to source. Barring any special mats for one particular brand of motorcycle, Harley Davidson or Indian for example, the mats we listed above are some of the best we can recommend.
When choosing a polyvinyl mat, one consideration would be the color. Polyvinyl mats have a tendency to stain from polymers that leach out of tires. This is more prevalent with cars and trucks since the tires are much bigger and hold more weight, but it can happen with motorcycle tires to some degree as well.
If you want to avoid possible tire staining from standing out, we suggest that you choose darker colors. Black is the best as it makes any possible tire stains very hard to see.
Interlocking tiles, carpet mats, and rubber mats generally are not susceptible to this phenomenon.
